One of the safest and most environmentally friendly procedures for the disinfection of operating-, process- or cooling water is adding ozone. However, ozone in the breathing air is harmful to human health even in minor concentrations and has a strong oxidizing effect. This is why every component used for plant engineering must meet the challenges of these special circumstances.
In the water treatment sector, ozone systems are designed as closed circuits. In any case, direct contact with human beings must be avoided. A residual ozone destructor converts the excess quantity of the aggressive ozone, that results from the processes, completely into oxygen. For this purpose, float-controlled continuous bleeding valves are used for pressure independent bleeding of the ozone generator reaction tank. They drain the residual ozone safely into the catalist where it is converted from O3 to O2.
The compact bleeding and venting valve made of deep-drawn stainless steel 1.4404 is resistant to ozone – and so are all the elastomers themselves. The uncomplicated technology and the soft seal permanently and reliably ensure the function of the EB1.12. Easy cleaning and low maintenance make it ideal for continuous industrial production.
